As a member of BCE it is expected that each participant’s family be willing to invest a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work per season.

If you are unable to commit to these volunteer hours then BCE asks you to make an investment to our general operating expenses fund to supply resources to be used as needed for paid staffing, equipment, additional expenses for games, leagues, local & regional tournaments as well as any other expenses related to improving the quality of the organization ultimately in service to BCE players.

This is a metric that factors in to our BCE player evaluation formula, so if you are unable to contribute volunteer time or provide equivalent financial support, without an approved hardship exception, then it will negatively affect the player evaluation score.

Blue Chip Elite may offer need-based financial assistance to players based on eligibility to the extent possible with the funds available. Because the number of players whose families qualify for a scholarship usually exceeds the budget.

Blue Chip Elite does not guarantee funding for, nor is able to fund, all players who meet eligibility.

Hardship grants are designed to pay a portion of the registration fee. The parent(s)/guardian(s) are expected to pay the remaining portion. Grants are considered each season to ensure all players/families have equal opportunity to apply.

Grants will not be applied toward team or tournament fees. and grants made in one season does not guaranteed approval in subsequent seasons. Players must reapply each season.

All families who receive a grant award will be required to complete additional service hours. The number of additional service hours required are in direct correlation to the grant. Failure to complete the required service hours will terminate the grant and the opportunity to apply in the future.
Required documentation:

1. Completed online scholarship application.
2. A copy of your most recent federal income tax return. If you do not file federal income taxes, please call 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800- 829-3676) for a verification letter.
3. Two most recent paycheck stubs or letter from your employer verifying your employment and stating
your annual salary. If you are unemployed, draw social security or a full-time student, please provide a summary of your unemployment benefits, SSI paperwork, or student financial aid benefits.
