AAU National – Memorial Classic May 23-25th

AAU Memorial Day Classic Player Pool Update

Orlando, FL | May 23–25
Wednesday AAU player practices will continue through the tournament for players being considered for Memorial Day Classic rosters.
Availability Deadline: 4/10 10pm
Any player interested in being considered must submit their availability by 4/12 so we can determine which teams we are planning to take.

This is one of the strongest and most popular AAU national events in the country. Last year, the event sold out with over 600 teams playing across ESPN Wide World of Sports and the Orange County Convention Center.

Blue Chip is currently building its Memorial Day Classic player pool. These are selection-based rosters, so not all players who submit availability will be chosen. Final teams will be formed based on fit, attendance, readiness, team need, and coach selection.

Blue Chip 2026 AAU Tournament Player Pool – Now Open

Spring local league is the beginning of our tournament player development cycle. From there, we evaluate, develop, and build throughout the spring and summer with the goal of finishing strong at End of Summer Slam at ESPN in Orlando.

Blue Chip is now building its 2026 tournament player pool for boys in 4th through 12th grade. This process is for:

  • IDP players
  • Current Blue Chip players coming out of Spring League
  • Outside competitive players looking for high-level tournament opportunities

Competitive Player Opportunities

In addition to our core Blue Chip players, this process is also open to experienced and high-level players outside of the program who are looking for additional tournament opportunities.

Many skilled players participate in multiple sports or are part of other organizations that may not attend larger multi-court events such as ESPN tournaments. We are actively looking to identify and include players who:

  • can compete at a high level
  • are looking for additional game reps and experience
  • may be available for select tournaments only

Players may be selected for one or multiple tournament weekends based on fit, availability, and team needs.

This is not a recreational or guaranteed-placement program. It is a competitive player pool where teams are built based on performance, readiness, and roster construction.

Our summer program is designed to be flexible, competitive, and realistic for families. Instead of locking every team into one large tournament commitment, we first collect player availability, evaluate fit, and then build teams tournament by tournament on an a la carte basis.

Our Summer Strategy

In past years, we have been one of the top organizations by total team count at the AAU Memorial Day Classic at ESPN. This year, we are still targeting major ESPN events, but our goal is to build throughout the summer and make End of Summer Slam at ESPN our primary season finale.

Phase 1 – Spring League Build
Develop all players through league play and training.

Phase 2 – Early Tournament Entry
Selective team submissions for Easter and Memorial events.

Phase 3 – Summer Development
Mini-camps, weeknight games, and local tournament reps.

Phase 4 – Premier Event Window
Selective teams compete in high-level events.

Phase 5 – End of Summer Slam
Primary organizational finish at ESPN.

Target Events

Easter Classic – Orlando – April 3-5

Florida Mayhem – Gainesville / Alachua S&E Center – May 2-3

AAU Memorial Day Classic – ESPN – May 23-25

Summer Jam Fest – Tavares / Big House – June 5-7

Elite Summer Classic – Game Point – June 20-21

AAU World Championships – ESPN
8th-12th: July 2-5
3rd-7th: July 6-9

End of Summer Slam – ESPN – July 24-26

Summer Programming

  • Mini-camps: 3-hour sessions every other week (included for IDP)
  • Flexible scheduling: works around gym maintenance
  • Weekday game reps: live practice through games
  • Supplemental play: pop-up tournament/game opportunities
High-level players from outside the program are encouraged to submit availability for consideration.

Blue Chip – AAU Summer Tournament Player Availability – June-August

Competitive AAU Players

Based on Summer player availability, Blue Chip typically has 3-8 4th-12th grade teams participating in Summer Tournament activity. Usually, at a minimum, we participate in:

AAU Worlds @ Disney ESPN
End of Summer Slam
We also target opportunities to participate at amazing multi-court facilities like ACSE in Gainesville, The Villages & Myrtle Beach.

Use the form below to let us know if you want to be included in our pool of players looking to play in any of these tournaments. For squads where we have more players than spots, here are the current criteria the staff coaches generally use to determine who they choose for their squad:

AAU/School/NIL Prep – Blue Chip Tournament Team – Spring 2025 Schedule

Competitive Players

Blue Chip historically has 5-8 5th-12th grade teams participating in each tournament we enter during the Spring/Summer season.

We present our tournaments typically in an ala-carte format where we assemble new teams for every tournament we enter. We will still have this option for this 2025 season, but in addition, we will be assembling core teams of players who want to play together across multiple events and enter in higher and more competitive divisions to better prepare them to play at higher levels.

So the current roadmap and APPROXIMATE costs for core team members will be:

  • 3/29-5/17 Local Spring League Competitive Division – Games, Playoff Tournament & Weekly Practice $450
  • 4/19-4/20 AAU National Easter Classic – Orange County Convention Center – $175
  • 5/24-5/26 AAU National Memorial Classic (SOLD OUT – We have 11 BC Teams Attending)(Largest AAU tournament in the country) – $200
  • Summer Tournaments TBD approx 2 per month based on how core teams do and player availability (will be ala carte)

So for this period of play 3/21 thru 8/11 the game count range should be 16-28 games with a cost estimate of $925± depending on how many tournaments a player is able to participate. So a BC IDP player’s schedule will be training once a week, squad practice once a week for a total of 2 practices a week. Any gaps in the schedule that present an opportunity to get extra practices are usually around $15/practice.

For players who select the option to be considered for the core team rosters (expected to participate in all events during this period) There will be a preorder of $500 non-refundable credit toward fees as a commitment. It will not be charged until the coaches have finalized their rosters.

For players who want to stay a la carte or do not get picked for a core roster. You must select all the tournaments in the list you are available for and then you will be considered for a team or as core team fill-in for that particular tournament based on player availability.

Players who have already submitted an interest form, we already have your submission in the database so you do not need to resubmit UNLESS your availability status has changed.
