BC – Foundations

Foundations Program

Late start. Strong base. Real development.

The Foundations Program is designed for middle school athletes—typically grades 6-10 who are new to organized
basketball or feel behind compared to experienced peers, but still want to learn, compete, and improve.

Who this is for

Newer players, late starters, and athletes who want a confident entry point
Built for learning without intimidation.
  • Players who started basketball later than others
  • Players who feel intimidated entering a program full of experienced athletes
  • Athletes with athletic ability who lack structured training
  • Players who understand the game but need consistent foundational mechanics
  • Players who want real development without a high-commitment, high-cost path

This is not a casual clinic. It’s structured developmental basketball with coaching,
correction, and progression.

What we teach

We slow the game down, teach it correctly, and build it back up
Core skills + game understanding.
  • Footwork, balance, and movement patterns
  • Proper shooting mechanics and shot preparation
  • Ball control, passing, and decision making
  • Defensive positioning, stance, and help concepts
  • Spacing, offensive structure, and basic reads
  • Rules, game flow, and confidence in live play

This is a skill-first environment—not uncontrolled scrimmaging.

Program structure

Simple schedule. High value.
One session per week.
  • 1 session per week (approximately 1 hour)
  • Expected start time: 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM on a weeknight
  • $100/month (equivalent to $25/session)

The final night of the week will be confirmed as interest grows and enrollment reaches a sustainable level.

Relationship to BC-IDP

Foundations is a feeder into BC-IDP and League Play
Also a corrective supplement for advanced players.

Foundations connects directly to BC-IDP (Blue Chip Individual Development Program).
BC-IDP is a high-intensity skill advancement player pool focused on providing
paths for players to compete at the school or AAU level.

Foundations differs from BC-IDP in that it is less intense, has a lower time commitment,
and focuses specifically on correcting foundational gaps and building confidence before advanced competition.

For advanced players who are lacking certain core fundamentals, Foundations can also serve as a
corrective program that augments BC-IDP training.

If a player is emotionally and competitively ready for organized, high-intensity development,
they should register for BC-IDP instead.

Where it leads

Multiple paths—without forcing a single “expensive commitment” outcome
Better basketball, smarter decisions, more confidence.
  • A smoother transition into League Play
  • A stronger foundation before moving into BC-IDP
  • Better performance in recreational competitive basketball
  • More confidence, consistency, and coachability

Not every player needs a high-commitment travel or AAU path. Some simply want to play better, smarter, and more confidently.
Foundations supports both directions.

Current status: interest collection

This is a new program—we’re building the schedule based on demand
Submit a profile to join the interest pool.

We are currently collecting player profiles to measure interest. As the interest pool grows, we will:

  • Confirm the weekly night
  • Finalize the gym location
  • Officially launch the program

Submitting a profile places your athlete in the interest pool. It does not yet guarantee placement.
