Blue Chip Elite Members typically have their games filmed and archived for team tape review and training as well as stat verification for middle, high school and college programs to review.
Teams in Blue Chip Jr NBA who want to be able to review game tape and share games with friends and family unable to attend can assign a volunteer as their game tape manager. Coaches you can also sign up as a GTM and assign anyone randomly to film on your phone and then follow the procedure to upload.
These are the requirements and procedures to film and submit games.
- Late-model android phone (Pixel, S9, S10, Note 8-10 etc) or iPhone with video recording app that can pause
- 300mb of free storage on device per game
- A Google or Gmail account so we can assign video manager uploading capabilities to the Blue Chip Account.
Game Day procedure
- A monopod/tripod is already set on bleachers directly behind the scoring table for Game Tape Managers to use
- Insert phone into phone clamp
- Click record when game starts and follow play to each half of court
- When framing half-court at basket try to frame from corner to corner and minimize any camera movement
- Pause video during any delays like timeouts, dead ball subs and at halftime
- At certain points in the game like during free throws or momentum transitions make sure to show the scoreboard and at end of game make sure to show the score before stopping recording
- No one should be standing at the score table. Feel free to remind anyone that may be standing to move out of the camera view or to sit down.
- Once the game is complete and you hit stop recording you should have one complete video file that is typically around 30 minutes long and about 300MB in size
- Once you sign up to be a Game Tape Manager your google/gmail account will have video manager privileges on the Blue Chip Youtube account whihc will allow you to upload the game tape as soon as you get to wifi. When you upload you can make note in comments of any exceptional plays that occurred during the game so we may include them in our Blue Chip Jr. NBA highlight films.
